Sonatas by Johann Kuhnau and their Use during Piano Lessons

This thesis deals with the life and work of Johann Kuhnau and focuses mainly on the following categories: 1. The life and work of Johann Kuhnau 2. The work for keyboard musical instruments 3. Sonatas by Johann Kuhnau 4. The use of his sonatas during piano lessons This thesis deals with a biography of Johann Kuhnau and presents his works for keyboard instruments. This is followed by a short chapter about a sonata form, its definition and progression. The third chapter is focuses on the sonatas by Johann Kuhnau, especially on his fourth collection named Biblical Sonatas which are presented here in the context of stories from the Old Testament. The final chapter focuses on the didactic and interpretive knowledge of Kuhnau's sonatas from his third and fourth collections for keyboard instruments. The aim of the work is to introduce Johann Kuhnau to reader, to point out his contribution in the field of music and to present the possibilities of working with his collections for keyboard instruments in teaching the piano at today's art schools. Personality of Eugèn Ysaÿe

This disertation turns its focus to one of the most significant personage of violin history. It portrays Eugène Ysaÿe not only as an interpret, conductor and pedagogist, but also as unconventional composer which established underlying milestone influented violin techniques of 20th century. We will point out to amity with leading artistic personalities which affected not only his evolution as composer. On musical examples, we will demonstrate his musical language, composition technique and personal input. This work should serve as complex oversight of Ysaÿe's life and persisting legacy.

Alexander Moyzes: Piano Sonata in E minor, op. 2

The focus of the bachelor thesis is to examine in closer detail the piano composition Piano Sonata in E minor, op. 2 by the Slovakian composer Alexander Moyzes (1906-1984). This is achieved through the compositional-technical analysis of its printed version that was published during the composer's life, in 1947. The aim is not to place the composition primarily within the historical context as a considerable amount of related sources has been collected; a large space of the work is therefore occupied by the analysis of these sources. Through the detailed study of these the thesis attempts to outline the genesis of the above mentioned composition and briefly comment on the development of Moyzes's compositional activities. Chopin sonata B minor analysis and its contextualization in Chopin´s work

This bachelor thesis deals mainly with the musical analysis of Chopin's third sonata b minor op. 58. The first chapter is titled "Characteristics of Chopin's work and the influence of contemporaries" and is divided into two subchapters. At the beginning of the entire section is described Chopin's life. In the first subchapter the bachelor thesis deals with enumeration of Chopin's works both for solo piano and for two pianos and orchestra. The second subchapter focuses on the general features of Chopin's work, the atributes of his personality or the circumstances surrounding the composition of some of his works. The second chapter represents the analysis of the sonatas in b minor op. 58, where each movement has its own subchapter. Finally, there is a subchapter deals with the context of this sonata in Chopin's overall work.

Chamber music of Bohuslav Martinů in his paris period

This bachelor thesis mainly should help to examinate the compositional style of Bohuslav Martinů by analyzing his Sonata for flute, violin and piano, but also to orientate in Bohuslav Martinů chamber music written during his Paris period.
The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter, which is divided into two subchapters, summarizes live and work of Bohuslav Martinů and his chamber music during his Paris period. Each following chapter contains harmonical and tectonic analysis of individual sonata movements. These chapters are also divided into subchapters (the first subchapter is always providing general characteristic and basic information about particular movement). Each of subchapters brings the analysis of selected big parts of sonata movements.

Interpretation analysis of sonata Es Dur op.120 No. 2 by Johannes Brahms

This work is an analytical view of the clarinet sonata E flat major of one of the most important German composers in the Romantic period, I. Brahms. German composer Johannes Brahms has created his own and distinctive creative style over time. He is the last one of the foremost German music in the 19th century. The aim of this work is to understand the principle of communication of the holistic analysis of this work and also the understanding of the work done for correct interpretation in the historical context. This sonata, along with the first Brahms sonata, is one of Brahms's favorite works and is repertoire for many performers. This work focuses on the brief history of this sonata, the author's biography of Brahms, the influence of the analysis on the interpretation of the composition and the complete analysis of the sonata.
